Welcome Back

Welcome

Welcome to Cockton Hill Junior School’s website

We are GOLD Rights Respecting Junior School in the heart of Bishop Auckland.

Using our core values:
Core Values

We support and nurture our children to be the best that they can be. Our broad curriculum, both in the classroom and beyond, ensures that pupils are empowered though the progressively planned teaching of knowledge and skills, and prepare them well for their future pathways. By offering the full National Curriculum we develop strong subject foundations for future learning. Pupils are challenged well and demonstrate sound subject knowledge as they progress through the school.

Beyond the classroom we offer children the opportunity to further develop sportsmanship, resilience, logical thinking and more. Pupil led groups such as e-cadets, WoW (Working out Worries) team and Eco Schools support children to become young leaders themselves. By working in this way our pupils’ are ready for their tomorrow. This site aims to give you a flavour of the exciting and engaging curriculum we deliver to all of our pupils in this inclusive school. In addition to this you will find important information related to our provision. For example; you will be able to read important and key policies, see the learning our children participate in, find information about how we support pupils with special educational needs and disabilities, our results at the end of Key Stage 2 and how we allocate our pupil and sport premiums.

If you are a parent or a carer of a pupil at our school please visit our parents information along with our newsletters to find out what we have been doing this school year along with how we are performing as a school. If you have any queries or require any further information please do not hesitate to contact the school.

Headteacher
