Pupils – What you need to know

Thank you for coming to the school website to read what school will look like for you when you return.

We have designed this as a question and answer structure so you can hopefully find what you need quickly.

What class will I be in?

You will remain in your usual class.

Who will teach me?

You will continue to be taught by your usual teacher.

What will classrooms look like?

They will look the same on the walls but there will be less tables and chairs. We have set the classes up so you can sit safely (2m) between each other but should we need to have a discussion you will be able to. The seat you are in on the first day is the seat you will stay in. You will have everything you need on your desk and you will not need to move around the room.

Will I still have breaks?

Of course, but you will only have your breaks with the pupils in your year group.

What will happen at lunch?

Like break, you will have your lunch in your year group and you will stay in your classrooms to eat. You will then have time outside in the same year group. We have made some playground games packs up for each group and these will be cleaned after every break time.

Can I go to the toilet?

Yes, of course you can but only 2 people are allowed in at a time and you must keep 2 metres between you. Always thoroughly clean your hands.

How do we enter school?

You will have a set time to arrive in school and you arrive through the nearest entrance to your classroom in school. You must come into the gate on your own and make sure there is 2 metres between you and other children entering school. You may need to wait to enter school and we have markings in the ground to help you. Staff will be there to tell you what to do. You will leave via the main yard as normal at the end of the school day.

What if I am poorly?

If you are poorly at home with a temperature or new dry continuous cough or loss of taste or smell you must stay at home for 7 days. If someone in your house has these symptoms you must stay at home for 14 days. If you feel unwell like this in school, we will look after you until someone can collect you.

What should I wear?

We expect full school uniform from September 2020 for all pupils.

What should I bring to school?

Nothing except your packed lunch if you have one and a water bottle. Do not bring phones, bags, stationery, PE kit etc.

What lessons will we do?

You will be taught a range of subjects across the curriculum according to your year group as usual.

Are we still doing lots of handwashing?

Yes, this is similar to before school partially closed. You will have tissues on your desk, access to hand sanitiser and also be doing a lot of hand washing. It is important to stick to the 20 second rule we have to make sure our hands are really clean. If you need to cough or sneeze you have tissues on your desk and if not cough or sneeze into your elbow.

If you have any other questions or think we have missed something out please contact the school.
