Broom House Farm

30th June 2022 By angelaritson

Year 5 visited Broom House Farm to see where some of the food we eat comes from.  We now know that some of their animals go to the abattoir to be slaughtered before it is prepared at the butcher for consumption and returned to the farm to sell in their shop.  We learned about the different types of wild flowers and had fun sitting in the meadow picking them.  Most of us left some fruit from our packed lunches to give to the pigs.  There were lots of chickens which were allowed to wander – these are called free range. We even got to stroke the 12 week old baby goat called Crumble.
