About the Award

About the Award

Currently we are working in school to achieve Level 1 status in the Rights Respecting Schools Award. This award is an initiative by UNICEF to make child and adults more aware of childrens rights. We are working closely with the children in circle time, colour groups and in other areas of the curriculum to make sure they know more about their basic human rights.

Each class has made a list of the rights and responsibilities that they feel are most important to them within their classroom. These were ideas from the children. These classroom charters are now displayed in each classroom.
